red tide

'red tide' is a scanned chromogenic print created in a traditional color darkroom by keeping the negative's orange mask in the picture instead of filtering it out through light. This print was an accident caused by my exhaustion. I often visited the darkroom in the evening hours, working until sunrise. The photograph shows the Strait of Magellan close to Punta Arenas in Chile. The same negative serves as the base layer for the SOURCE Behold The Ocean collectibles.
